Chef's knives
The chef's knife - the gyuto - is the cornerstone of any knife collection. This knife is used for the vast majority of cutting tasks in general cooking. Be it chopping and slicing both meat and vegetables, and is therefore very versatile. The customers who visit our store often ask for a good all-round knife, and the type that will be displayed there will be a chef's knife.
The most popular chef's knives typically have a blade length of 21 cm, where the blade at the same time has a height that means that you can easily cut into a cutting board with it, even the very back of the blade, and still have room for your fingers between the handle of the knife and cutting board.
We generally carry two different types - the classic French or Western, if you like, which you will find at Sabatier and Wüsthof. You also have the option of choosing the Japanese chef's knife - a gyuto. This looks almost like the western chef's knife, and is used in exactly the same way. However, the profile on the back is typically more straight.
Regardless of whether you are into the Western chef's knife or the Japanese gyuto, you have the opportunity to see and read about a lot of different models in our selection. You are of course also very welcome to visit us in our shop, where you can try to get the knife in your hand and cut some carrots.
