Professional knife sharpening at Foodgear Shop

If your kitchen knives have lost their sharpness, we offer professional knife sharpening to restore their sharp and functional edge. We strive to have the knives ready for pickup within 24 hours.

Prices:

  • Standard sharpening (tormek): DKK 80 per knife – regardless of length.
  • Hand sharpening: DKK 150 per knife – regardless of length.
  • Single bevel sharpening: DKK 250 per knife – regardless of length.
  • Thinning: DKK 350 per knife – regardless of length.

NOTE: If the knife is in particularly poor condition, an additional charge may apply. We will discuss this with you before we begin.

 

We sharpen all knives with a straight edge, but unfortunately not bread knives, scissors, or similar.

Send us your knives

If you don't live near Copenhagen, you can send your knives to us, and we will return them after sharpening. Return shipping costs DKK 50. Please contact us at butik@foodgear.dk before sending.

Gentle sharpening on whetstone

We use slowly rotating whetstones, which are more gentle on the knife than many other sharpening methods. Whetstone sharpening reduces heat generation during sharpening, thereby helping to preserve the steel's hardness and strength. After sharpening, the knife is classically polished on leather with wax for a beautiful and precise finish.

Japanese hand sharpening

We also offer hand sharpening on Japanese whetstones from grit 240 up to 12,000. This provides a very fine and precise result that can be adapted to different knife types and steel qualities. If you have special requests for sharpening, please feel free to contact us, and we will find the right solution.
