Shoichi Hashimoto x Myojin 'Yuuzan' Twist Damascus Blue #2 + White #2 240mm Gyuto

kr.22.999,00

Shoichi Hashimoto is known as the best damask artist in Japan. He started moving towards kitchen knives a little over 3 years ago and has managed to incorporate his artistic skills into the forging process of his knives. All his knives are "One Of a Kind" and are all something quite special.

This knife is actually built like a San-Mai (3 layers), but both the cladding and the core steel are in several layers. This means that the 2 softer outer layers that 'hug' the core steel are several different types of steel folded together, and the core steel then consists of Blue #2 (Aogami) & White #2 (Shirogami) folded together. Together, it creates a work of art that simply cannot be compared to anything else.

After the forging process at Hashimoto-san, it goes to the highly recognized sharpener, Naohito Myojin, who works his magic on the blade. Also note the cheeky detail that the tang is engraved with name, number and date.

Comes without a handle, but with the purchase of the knife you get an optional handle, also a custom handle if you wish.
