Yu Kurosaki is a relatively young forge that has taken the knife world by storm over the past few years. He has a workshop in the famous Takefu Knife Village, which can be called a "knife collective", where a lot of incredibly skilled blacksmiths and sharpeners live.
The incredibly skilled forge is known for its extremely beautiful and functional knives. He is particularly known for his Tsuchime finish, which can be found on, among other things, his, senko, fujin & rajin series.
The Gekko series is hand forged in 3 layers - VGXEOS at the core and soft stainless on the outside.
VGXEOS is a new steel that is very similar to HAP40. It can be hardened hard so that the knife stays sharp for a long time, and it is rust-free.
This knife is a sujihiki, and is used for cutting meat & fish.
