Konosuke YS

Of all the knives Konosuke has ever made, the YS-M is probably one of the most beautiful and not least the best 'performing'.

Rounded and polished knife back. Banked surface & residues from the oil hardening (kurouchi). Matt transition to shiny semi-stainless core steel. All these different details help to emphasize the skill of the blacksmith and the grinder - from Sanjo/Nigata.
But it is not only a piece of art, but also a tool that performs like very few knives do. Out of the box it is sharper than anything else we have tried and this sharpness lasts for an incredibly long time - it is also easy to maintain.

The profile of the knife most resembles a spear point, which is typical of knives from the Sanjo area. This gives the feeling of an incredibly fast and efficient knife. In addition to the 'fast' profile, it is also slightly thicker across the back than the classic Sakai laser knives - eg HD2. Due to the masterful grinding, this - contrary to normal - does nothing bad for the cutting experience, rather the opposite. A little weight behind such a sharp and thin egg makes it incredibly effective and one of the best cutting knives in the range.

ATTENTION This front part is more black in the kurouchi, where in the picture it looks more gray.
