Description & specifications

Shun Kagerou is KAI's newest high-end series and a Red Dot Award 2025 winner. Kagerou, the Japanese word for the heat haze that shimmers above the flames, is reflected in the blade's pattern: the upper half is highly polished, while the 71 layers of Damascus steel wind along the edge like a veil of heat.

The 15 cm Petty is a versatile mid-sized knife that bridges the gap between the paring knife and the chef's knife. It is well suited to cutting fruit and vegetables, making sandwiches and all the tasks that call for precision without a large blade. The blade combines flexible VG-2 steel with the hard VG-10 steel in 71 layers. The grey-black Pakkawood handle is treated with resins for moisture resistance and durability.
