An ironing steel is a fantastic tool when it comes to maintaining kitchen knives. At Foodgear, we always recommend that you use a ceramic ironing steel, as the ceramic will be significantly harder than the steel in the knife you are ironing.

It is important to remember that using an iron should be done with respect. The iron is used to keep a sharp knife sharp for a longer time. The knife will still need to be sharpened on stone once in a while. We have made a short video where Tommy demonstrates how to use his ironing board correctly. It's easy and anyone can figure it out.
