Description & specifications

The Laguiole knives we offer come from the Aubrac house, a forge located just outside the town of Laguiole.

Laguiole En-Aubrac has a long and proud tradition of forging folding knives, steak knives, and corkscrews.

The quality from the Aubrac house in particular is very high, and all products are made by hand.

All wood and bone are imported, treated, and cut for the unique handles found on the knives. If you look closely, in most cases you will see the suggestion of a cross on one side of the knives.

The cross dates back to when folding knives were made. The folding knives were used by farmers who spent most of their day in the field. They couldn't always make it to church on Sundays, as their animals needed to be in the field and looked after. Therefore, they always carried their Laguiole folding knife in their pocket, and in that way, they could still be in contact with the church.

Zebrano:

Zebrano wood originates from West Africa and features strong light brown and dark brown striped hues.

This product is made from natural materials, and therefore variations in the wood's appearance may occur.

Maintenance & use

Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.

Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
