Sommelier from the French Laguiole en Aubrac with ebony wood and mammoth ivory.
Laguiole en Aubrac has existed since 1829. From 1829 to 1880, the French company only produced steak and folding knives, and it was not until 1880 that their corkscrews made their debut. The idea for the corkscrew came from the demand that had developed among men from northern Aveyron who had traveled to Paris to work as waiters in the many small cafés.
The screw on these corkscrews is conical, allowing for a better entry into the cork. Furthermore, the 'cap' is cast and not bent, which means that over time it will not open and loosen.
The steel on this model is polished to a shine.
