Description & specifications

Once again, a marvel emerges from the talented artisans of Konosuke.

The Konosuke Powder Steel Prototype is one of the latest products from the renowned manufacturer from Sakai, Japan.

As described, these are prototypes from a new series Konosuke is working on. They are made with a powder steel core and stainless outer layers.

Although they are 'prototypes', the product is already superbly executed. The polishing is beautifully done, almost a half mirror, half migaki finish, and all details have been meticulously cared for. You can expect the same 'attention to detail' known from their other products.

These knives are true Sakai lasers. Measuring only 2mm out of the tang and thinly ground behind the edge.

Like their newer series, these are sharpened in-house at Konosuke, but this will be their first attempt at a stainless knife that they have produced themselves.

Maintenance & use

Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.

Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
