HADO Knives is a relatively new player in the game, based in the knife Mecca's capital, Sakai, Japan. They have truly made a name for themselves in the market with their incredibly well-made and coveted products. They collaborate with some fantastic craftsmen, such as Yoshikazu Tanaka as the blacksmith and master sharpener Naohiro Nomura.

These knives are made by exactly the 2 aforementioned gentlemen. Tanaka-san has built the knife in 3 layers with Aogami #1 at the core and surrounding soft iron damascus cladding.

Nomura-san's work here is truly world-class. The knife has an incredibly beautiful grind. It comes out thick at the tang and tapers evenly towards the tip. It becomes incredibly thin behind the edge, which gives the knife excellent cutting performance. The Fit&Finish is also top-shelf. Rounded and polished edges at both the choil and the spine, and the knife has a gorgeous rustic kurouchi finish on the upper part of the blade, which meets an unusually beautiful hand-applied kasumi in the middle of the blade.
