Description & specifications

Benriner Mandolin Iron 9.5

If you are looking for an affordable alternative among all the expensive mandolin irons on the market, Benriner's Japanese mandolin iron is a strong choice. Despite being cheaper on the market, we emphasize that the quality is not of a cheaper scale.

Benriner's mandolins are both affordable, incredibly sharp and easy to use.

With replaceable blades and screws, a single wheel for adjusting the thickness of the slices and a 'safety slide' that protects the user from nasty cuts, Benriner's mandolins are preferred by many professionals and private chefs.

The mandolines are supplied with three interchangeable blades, for making julienne in three different sizes. Product information A piece of black rubber is mounted at the bottom of the mandolin iron, which acts as 'slip protection' - i.e. if you place the mandolin iron on the table, the rubber will prevent the mandolin iron from sliding back and forth, thereby ensuring a safe working position.

The thickness of the discs can be adjusted from 0.5mm to 5mm. The hand-sharpened blades can be replaced and are of the highest quality, and remind most of all of the sharpest Japanese knives. The mandolin iron itself - without blades - is dishwasher safe.

Blades MUST NOT be put in the dishwasher, and we always recommend hand washing for kitchen utensils.

Maintenance & use

Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.

Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
