Description & specifications

Senzo Dawn is a new exclusive 'Limited Edition' series from Suncraft. When a typhoon hit Seki City in 2019, tragically knocking down a 300-year-old oak tree right by Kifune Shrine, Suncraft had the idea to give the tree new life. After receiving the blessing of a priest to use the wood to build handles for their new top series, production began.

Only 2 knives have been made in the series, a petty at 150mm and a gyuto at 210mm. They are made with stainless SG2 at the core surrounded by a beautifully dark damascus cladding.

This petty is a good smaller all-around knife that can be used for trimming meat and cutting fruits and vegetables. The handle is made of stabilized wood, with the ferrule being this 300-year-old oak.

We have received 24 pieces of this knife, and each box is numbered so you can see exactly which one you have received.

Foodgear always advises against cutting any form of bones and frozen goods. Knives should not be washed in the dishwasher, as this removes sharpness and provokes rust attacks - even in stainless alloys!

Maintenance & use

Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.

Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
