Description & specifications
Sankurafuto (Suncraft in English) from Seki in Japan, makes extremely luxurious knives.
We found these knives when we visited the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt. From the moment we first saw them, we were completely in love and had to know more.
The knives are not only beautiful, but also quite adventurous to work with.
This series, Black, is built from 33 layers of Damascus steel which is glass-blasted to give it a matte finish. The core steel is VG-10 which is not hardened crazy hard, so it is easier to work with.
VG-10 is an incredibly popular and widespread steel alloy in the knife world. Many have used it in their top series, and it must be the most widespread of the hard steel alloys. VG stands for Vanadium Gold and 'gold' in this case stands for quality.

Maintenance & use
Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.
Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
